Dumbbell Lateral Raise

This exercise works the muscles on the sides of your shoulders. It is used to make your shoulders look wider and feel stronger.

Dumbbell Lateral Raise demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Stand up with your feet apart as wide as your shoulders. Hold a weight in each hand with your palms facing your legs.
  2. 2Keep your back tall and tighten your stomach muscles.
  3. 3Lift your arms straight out to the sides until they are level with the floor. Keep your elbows bent just a little bit.
  4. 4Hold steady for a second at the top, then slowly bring your arms back down to where you started.
  5. 5Do this again for as many times as you need.
