Dumbbell Standing Overhead Press

The dumbbell standing overhead press is a strength exercise for your shoulder muscles. You perform it by standing up and pushing dumbbells from your shoulders straight up over your head.

Dumbbell Standing Overhead Press demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Stand tall with your feet as wide as your shoulders. Hold a dumbbell in each hand at shoulder height with your palms facing forward.
  2. 2Push the weights straight up toward the ceiling until your arms are straight.
  3. 3Hold still for a second at the top, then slowly lower the weights back down to your shoulders.
  4. 4Do this again for as many times as you need.
